YOUR DREAMS MY NIGHTMARES

I know, I'm ridiculously late with my posts—but if you're interested in hearing me blather on
about my work/creative/life/toddler balance, Sam Weber interviewed me for his podcast,
Your Dreams My Nightmares. It's kind of like LEAN IN for the illustrator set.

SCARVES

Back in December (I know—ages ago), I created some scarves along with friends Julia and Leah. I thought it would be fun to show a little square of the pattern for the blue scarf (top), one of the original drawings for the scarf (middle). On the bottom is a doodle Julia and I drew that I then turned into a pattern, which helped lead to the idea to create the scarves.

WHITE MOUNTAINS INSPIRED PATTERN VARIATIONS

I'd like these as fitted sheets, with a white duvet cover and white pillows on top.

PATTERN OF THE "DAY?"

I have this (highly unoriginal) idea that I could make one pattern every day (every week day?), just rough and tumble. Perhaps after vacation!

POOL DEBRIS + LANTERNS

While visiting my dad and stepmom's farm this weekend, a storm knocked out the power the first night we were there. It was tough to be without water, power, internet/phone and A/C, but there was a deep relaxation in being disconnected.

After running a children's picture book process workshop at ICON6, I just couldn't get enough and joined the board of directors for ICON7 (the illustration conference). It was one of the best creative experiences I've ever had. I wish I had taken more photos.

AIMEE SICURO + ONE YEAR IN COAL HARBOR

I recently worked with Aimee Sicuro on a jacket for the esteemed children's book author Polly Horvath. It was a great project, and Aimee has posted about it. I should add that these jackets wouldn't be what they are without the wisdom and input of the publishers that I work for; Lee Wade and Anne Schwartz.
